Are you one of those lucky women that looks good wearing red lipstick? I've longed to rock this look since the days of Robert Palmer's video vixens. I have tried various shades and brands of red lipstick to give it a fair shake. I have even tested each shade again when my hair color changes. The verdict is simple. Nope, can't do it! Apparently, the shade depends on one's skin tone, but I still look like death warmed over in every red shade I have sampled. Um, pretty! They are showing red lips all over the runway. Since my runway days are LONG gone, I need not worry. Luckily, many different looks are current, so we ladies just need to find what works for us. Being over forty, I tend what to do what works for me and not what works on a 6'2", size 4, twenty year old model. We need to feel comfortable in our own skin, not follow a trend just because it's of the moment. However, if you are lucky enough to carry off a pair of bright red lipstick covered lips, sport them proudly. Sing it with me y'all, "might as well face it your addicted to love..."
Thanks for reading. Bye for now...
I can't do it either. I remember when orange lipstick was the trend and I didn't think it looked good on anyone. I will say that red lipstick does look great in photography, especially black and white. I would never wear it normally though.
ReplyDeleteI can't wear red lipstick either! I tried every shade in the world and gave up on it a long time ago! Lol. I've learned to do what works best for myself as well.
